COMBI-MAX is a compact device for installations with solar panels where operation in backup mode is required; backup systems allow to maintain, from self-consumption, the energy supply in homes and facilities in case of power cuts or failures. The integration of these systems is of great utility and importance in any photovoltaic installation where autonomy, efficiency and profitability are sought.
These systems, also known as emergency systems or energy backup systems, allow maintaining the operation of critical and indispensable equipment in the event of power outages. They combine solar panels and batteries where the solar energy captured during the day is accumulated to be used later when it is needed, thus guaranteeing the electricity supply after its generation when solar production is not sufficient. But the operation of the batteries, i.e., being able to use the energy accumulated in them is only possible through the inverter, so if there is a failure in the power grid, the inverter and the battery will stop working and the use of the accumulated energy will not be effective.
It is in these cases when COMBI-MAX acts; it controls uninterruptedly the grid voltage and when it detects a failure or power outage in the electrical grid, it disconnects the photovoltaic installation from the main grid and sends a signal to the inverter to activate the Backup operation mode. This equipment detects the incident and automatically isolates the photovoltaic installation from the main grid, as required by the ITC-40 standard, switching the installation to Backup mode and making it totally self-sufficient. It is the energy accumulated in the batteries that will provide 100% of the energy to the installation.
COMBI-MAX allows the power supply and operation of all loads or only critical loads, by allowing the operation in total Backup or Backup mode for critical loads
The reconnection to the main grid will occur once the voltage is restored and remains within the normal range for at least three minutes, automatically deactivates the inverter's backup mode and reconnects the system to the grid.
