HOW TO DETERMINE THE FLANGE OF AN ENGINE WHEN ORDERING.

When replacing an engine, it is necessary to know a series of specific technical data in order to order the necessary spare parts. Usually the motors include in their plates most of their characteristics, however, it does not come in them what type of flange they have mounted.

Aware of this, in ADAJUSA we put at your disposal a few small tricks that will allow you to know in an easy and fast way what type of flange of your engine is. In addition, you will know the most common flange types and their specific characteristics

When it comes time to replace a three-phase or single-phase electric motor and to place the order a series of data from it is necessary, the electrical data are usually not problems as these appear on the feature plate of the same. Another problem is determining the type of flange the motor has mounted.

The most common flange types are three:

- Flange type B3 (foot)

- B5 flange

- Flange type B14

If you wish you can also access the information and manuals that we make available to you:

- Manual single-phase motor circuit breaker

- Single-phase motor connection manual

Below we detail how you should proceed to identify what type of flange your engine has mounted and thus request just the flange you need, thus speeding up the replacement process.

Flange type B3 (IMB3)

This type of construction engine is characterized by being fixed by foot, the cuts on the foot are through to be fixed by screw to the bench. The front flange has no fastener for fixing.

Flange type B5 (IMB5)

This type of construction, the motor is fixed at the front, by screws through the motor and threaded on the bench of the machine or fastener element.

The flange diameter usually excels from the diameter of the motor body.

Flange type B14 (IMB14)

This construction type, the motor is fixed at the front, by screws threaded into the motor and throughrs on the bench of the machine or fastener element.
